Revitalizing a Beach Bar with Sophisticated Coastal Charm
The client wanted to notably change the old image of the space, going from something informal to a surfer beach bar, with a more sophisticated and classic style, but, at the same time, “cozy”, one where tradition and the sea are present. It was therefore decided to use an existing color palette from the contour itself, and include antique Portuguese pieces in the decoration.
It was also created a new area: a wooden deck area, for customers to relax and watch the sunset while waiting for their table. In a restaurant or commercial location, execution timing is crucial, so we had to renovate in record time. In that sense, it was a big challenge, but at the same time, it was very rewarding to work in such a magical location like Arrifana.
The most significant change was the introduction of a deck in a previously unused prime area, which perfectly complemented the restaurant by adding an extra seating space. The entrance area was also redesigned to feature smaller, versatile tables suitable, for both dining and casual snacking.
